Another gas which can be described as a biomass alternative energy source is ethanol. Ethanol is an alcohol which comes from sugars which can be found mainly in grains such as wheat or corn. Ethanol is a fuel which can be used for transportation and is made from biomass materials. In the United States, most of the ethanol is derived from corn. Definitely, the process of distilling methanol from corn is expensive. There are scientists who are working on discovering cheaper methods of distilling ethanol from corn and also how to make ethanol by using all parts of plants and trees - this will definitely help in bringing down the cost.
